Silhouette InstaLift®
Silhouette InstaLift is a minimally invasive thread lift for the mid-face. Dr. Anna Petropoulos places fine absorbable sutures beneath the skin to reposition the cheeks and soften jowls and nasolabial folds, with no incisions and no general anesthesia.
The sutures carry small cones that hold the lifted tissue in place, then dissolve over time while the skin builds new collagen around them. Most patients are back to their routine within a few days.
Dr. Anna Petropoulos is a board-certified facial plastic surgeon serving Danvers and Boston. She reserves Silhouette InstaLift for patients who want a visible lift in the mid-face without surgery, and she will tell you at your consultation whether threads or another approach fits your goals.
Lift Without Surgery
The sutures reposition sagging tissue in the cheeks and jawline immediately, so you see a change the day of treatment.
Collagen That Keeps Working
As the sutures dissolve, the skin around them produces new collagen, which gradually improves firmness and texture over the following months.
Short Appointment
The procedure is done in our office under local anesthesia and usually takes under an hour.
Little Downtime
Mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness typically settles within a few days, and most patients return to work quickly.
How Does Silhouette InstaLift Work?
Dr. Petropoulos marks the treatment plan on your face, numbs the area, and guides each suture beneath the skin through a small entry point using a fine needle. Every suture carries tiny cones facing in two directions. Once it is in place, she gently draws the tissue upward so the cones anchor it in the lifted position.
The appointment usually takes 45 to 60 minutes. You are awake and comfortable throughout and can go home right after. We will give you simple instructions on sleeping position, facial movement, and activity for the first week.
The lift is visible immediately and continues to refine as swelling settles and collagen builds. Results typically last one to two years. Dr. Petropoulos will assess your skin and recommend whether a thread lift alone, or a combination with fillers or skin tightening, is the right plan for you.
If you are noticing sagging in the cheeks or early jowls and are not ready for a facelift, request a consultation. Dr. Petropoulos will examine your skin and tissue, explain what a thread lift can and cannot do, and outline the options that fit your goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions patients ask us most.
Patients with mild to moderate sagging in the mid-face and good skin quality tend to do best. More significant laxity is usually better served by a facelift, which Dr. Petropoulos will discuss with you if that is the case.
The area is numbed with local anesthetic. Most patients describe pressure and a pulling sensation rather than pain. Some tenderness for a few days afterward is normal.
The sutures dissolve over several months, and the lifting effect commonly lasts one to two years. The treatment can be repeated.
Temporary swelling, bruising, and small dimples where the sutures sit are the most common and usually resolve within days to a couple of weeks. Dr. Petropoulos reviews all risks with you before treatment.
